Meditation with Crystals

Meditation is an ancient practice that offers tremendous benefits to the practitioner. Meditation does not require any specific

beliefs or any metaphysical or spiritual ideas.

 

You do not need any special talent. You only need yourself, your mind, and a few minutes in which you can be undisturbed.

Why should we meditate? 
  • For relaxation. Meditation will alter your mind state. This is a physical fact. You can actually slow down your brain wave pattern and move from the active beta state to the alpha state. This will relax both your body and your mind.

  • For creative visualization. In the alpha mode, you can talk with yourself and creatively visualize something you seek. It could be a new relationship, a happier state of mind, improved health, or whatever you desire. You can then see yourself accomplishing your goal. Such affirmations are powerful programmers of the human mind.

  • Contacting your higher self. This might seem a bit unbelievable, but in meditation it is just you. With your brain in an alpha state all thoughts, ideas, and inputs are coming from deep within your mind, and you are conscious at the time. This will be sporadic, but meaningful. It does become a bit addictive. Everyone wonders who they really are. We catch glimpses in our deepest thoughts and in our dreams.

  • Gratitude. Most people that are truly happy realize that they have what they need within them, that it is essentially boundless, and that they derive satisfaction from sharing it. Mediation allows for focusing on what is within.

  • Self Healing. We all know many afflictions are self induced. We can think ourselves sick, and we can often think ourselves well. Meditation is a direct link to your inner self. Affirmations of wellness during meditation are effective mind control and body control tools for health.

  • Opening Energy Centers. Meditation will aid you in finding the sources of energy you have within you.

  • Grounding. Meditation will connect with the planet, and assure you are seeing things as they truly exist.

  • Connecting with Angels and Spirit Guides. Prayer is often a form of meditation. The meditative state makes your mind more open to communication with spirits.

How do I use Crystals in my meditation?

 

Meditation with crystals is a two-step process. First you must find the crystal that has the Universal Life Force energy that is appropriate to your intentions. It is best to either hold the crystal or place it in front of you where you can focus on it during your meditation.

Selecting the right crystal takes a bit of work. Each crystal has a crystal energy structure, a color ray of influence, and an earth power derived from its chemical makeup. Choose one that has the appropriate energy for your need.  Select one that calls to you.  Use your intuition. 

 

You can also use a crystal that is aligned with a Spirit Guide or an angel or a Goddess. If you are meditating for self healing, a crystal associated with the appropriate chakra would be called for. 

Once you have the crystal with the right energy to facilitate your meditation, either place it in front of you or hold it in your hand. You don't have to sit in the lotus position to meditate. Lie or  sit comfortably. You can lie on the floor,  sit on a pillow, sit in a chair, on a bench, or anywhere you are comfortable. Relax. Breathe. 

Take a few deep breaths. Now starting with your Base or Earth Chakra, or even your toes, focus on each part of your body, willing it to completely relax. Take your time. Remember your breath.  Focus on each part until you get to your Crown chakra or top of your head. Then very slowly count from ten to one. Now see a cord tied to the center of the earth, tied to a large cluster of crytals, extending all the way through the earth to your Base Chakra, up through your spine and connected to your Crown Chakra.  Remember your breath. You are now grounded and in a meditative state. You are ready to begin the connection to your chosen crystal.

Intention   What is your intention of this meditation. Allow the thought to come in naturally.  As you focus on your intention, welcome the energy of the cosmos flowing in your crystal. Try your best to actually sense or feel  (perhaps "see") this energy. You will need focus your mind and breath.  Continue to breath.  Feel, sense or see the energy flowing into your crystal then into your body. You are connecting your energy to the crystal energy.  Just sit with this for a few breaths.  Experience how this feels.  Which Chakra is sensing this? Can you feel this in your aura?  

 

Now with the energy flowing, focus your mind on your intention or purpose.  If you are trying to heal yourself, see the energy flow from the cosmos, through your crystal to the location of pain or chakra.  Breathe and let this energy flow.  If you are trying to simply relax, see the energy start to wrap you in a protective cocoon.

 

If you are seeking understanding, see or feel the energy flow into the deep recesses of your mind. If you are seeking to communicate with spirit beings, see or feel the energy flow out of the top of your head and disperse into the heavens. You are connected to yourself, and the energy of the Universal Life Force, through your crystal and your mental state. 

When it is time to return to the everyday world, you will know.  Slow down the energy flow.  See the crystal dim.  Starting from your Crown Chakra flowing to your Base or Earth Chakra,  mentally release each part of your body. When you get to your toes, wiggle them and then imagine the cord connecting you to the center of the earth has disappeared.  Take a few more deep breaths to end the session.  Thank the cosmos, Universal Life Force and your chosen crystal for this session.  Release all energy from the session - always with Gratitude.
